Described as an urban fantasy action-RPG, Zenless Zone Zero follows the events and citizens ofNew Eridu, “the last shelter for urban civilization.”
In HoYoverse fashion, Zenless Zone Zero boasts an extensive character roster in service to both its story and banners. Its cyberpunk city lends the RPG gamea sci-fi edge, though its fast-paced combat is more in line with Genshin Impact than Honkai Star Rail. Zenless Zone Zero release date
The Zenless Zone Zero release datewas Thursday, July 4, 2024. This was confirmed by developer HoYoverse on the game’s official social channels. The servers went live at 10am UTC+8 / 7pm PDT / 10pm EDT / 3 am BST / 4am CEST / 12am AEST.
We already suspected that the anime gamewould arrive in July thanks to a recentZenless Zone Zerolaunch date leak on the App Store. This early date was supplied by HoYoverse, and aligns with the developer’s pre-release schedules for Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
ZZZ is available on PC via its own official launcher, as well as on PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. It includes crossplay and cross-platform progression from theZenless Zone Zero launch dateonwards,allowing players to move seamlessly between devices on the go.

The announcement trailer shows off dynamic combatacross rain-swept streets and industrial structures in the sprawling metropolis of New Eridu. Characters are depicted wielding all manner of ranged and melee weapons, including swords, dual pistols, axes, and heavy machine guns.
Characters are grouped into factions or alignments in accordance with the story, though you can mix and match them to create the best four-unit squad. There are 14 playable characters available at launch, with more set to be introduced in later updates.
TheZenless Zone Zero release date trailer aired during The Game Awards. It features the three main factions that appear in the story at launch: Belobog Heavy Industries, the Victoria Housekeeping Co., and the Cunning Hares. Thesefactions intersectas they seek out Belle and Wise, the two playable protagonists who jugglerunning theRandom Play video storewith their doublelife as a Proxy under the pseudonym Phaethon.
Zenless Zone Zero gameplay
As Proxies, Belle and Wise investigate dangerous supernatural phenomena called Hollows. These are rifts that grow and create distorted dimensions filled with monsters referred to as The Ethereal.
Belle and Wisetake ondangerous commissions within Hollows via the Inter-Knot, an online network that the citizens of New Eridu use to reach out for help. These Hollow Deep Divestake place on a 2D board that allows Phaethon’s trusty Bangboo, Eous, to seamlessly pass through the network and complete tasks for would-be anonymous clients on the Inter-Knot.
Outside ofcommissions, the siblings manage their co-owned video store and catch up with their neighbors on Sixth Street for combat buffs, equipment upgrades, and arcade minigame rewards. They can also head further afield to new cosmopolitan areas inZZZ’svibrant dystopia,which is set to expand as time goes on.
Zenless Zone Zero’s visual design is familiar to those who have played Genshin Impact, but the setting invokes a more futuristic, urban styling. HoYoverse promises “a fluid, cinematic, action-oriented combat system” with players taking control of multiple characters similarly to that of Genshin Impact.You can also customize your characters with Drive Discs and Bangbooto improve their performance.
When you’re not playing through the main story and side commissions, you can also test the mettle of your team in Hollow Zero, aroguelike gamemode that includes procedurally generated floors, enemies, and rewards. Naturally, you’ll need some pretty powerful units to make it to the end of Hollow Zero in one piece.
