Everyone is praising Selena Gomez's unedited bikini pictures (2024)

We love Selena Gomez for many a-reason, and her latest bikini and swimsuit photoshoot - which appears to be entirely unedited and Photoshop-free - is just one. Her millions of fans are also loving the photos and are pretty much all saying the same thing, too: how refreshing it is to see a celebrity posing without any retouching.

Posting a message of body confidence alongside the images on her own Instagram, Selena said to her 242 million followers, "So grateful that I get the opportunity to celebrate my friends’ endeavours. My collaboration with @lamariette is out today!"

She added, "What I love about this brand [LA'MARIETTE] is that it celebrates women who who love their bodies unconditionally giving themselves the grace they deserve. Hope you love it as much as I do ♥️ "

Over on LA'MARIETTE's account, more images of Selena rocking the purple-hued, psychedelic range of bikini tops and bottoms, and all-in-one bathing suits, have been shared. Underneath one snap of Selena in a bikini in a waterfall, one social media user discussed how important it was to them to see the singer and actress without any editing, "She doesn’t know how much it means to us that she’s showing her stunning natural body… a truly role model."

Andddd just for good luck, here's the picture that Selena shared on her own account, too:

Oh, okay! You've twisted our arm... and one more of the photos posted by LA'MARIETTE:

The love continued over on Twitter too, where a fan said, "Seeing Selena Gomez stomach & body WITHOUT PHOTOSHOP is Natural is Beautiful 🔥" (swiftly garnering over 3,000 likes).

On the brand's website, LA'MARIETTE says its strives to create pieces that will appeal to folks of all sizes, with a range spanning XS to XXL. "From the French word 'mariette', which means 'of the sea', La’Mariette is an inclusive swimwear brand that promotes self-love and acceptance," it writes.

"La’Mariette was founded by Theresa Mingus and Morgan Brutocao to make all women feel confident and comfortable, while highlighting their authentic self. Everything is made with the mindset of 'Is this style going to look good on every body type? Is there a coverage option offered for everyone?'."

It continues on to add, "Most swimwear lines only size their suits up to a large or extra large using the same pattern for every size. La‘Mariette, however, develops a specific pattern for every body. With suits running from sizes XS-XXL, La’Mariette’s swimwear provides the coverage and confidence to feel at ease being your best self."

Selena Gomez in Vera Wang at the 2015 Met Gala

Speaking about her body, in a recent video with Vogue, Selena commented on the pressure she faces to still have the same figure and weight that she did as a teenager - when she's now 28-years-old. "I fluctuate a lot with my weight," she said, while discussing a dress she wore to the Met Gala in 2015. "I remember this night specifically... I didn’t feel good about my body."

She then added that changing the dress to fit her, rather than trying to change herself to fit the dress, was a revelation, "So what was really amazing was that I actually got a chance to work on the dress that fit my body... We came together and built something really beautiful, something that fit me really well. That was one of the moments where I was like, 'I don’t have to be that 19-year-old body shape anymore because I’m not'."

We think Selena looks incredible - now, then and forever.
